Hello and welcome to therapy!
Choosing to come to counseling is not an easy decision. I admire all those who are willing to step into that process of being vulnerable and pursuing self growth. It is my honor to work with each one of my clients and I will do my best to help make the process encouraging and filled with hope.
I have 25 years of experience counseling adults with a variety of concerns including anxiety, depression, relational challenges, grief and loss, and life adjustments. I am most passionate in helping clients develop self-identity, emotional maturity, healthy boundaries, communication skills/assertiveness, and quality and loving relationships. It is also common for me to work with clients to better understand and heal from relationships with parents or romantic partners who have been emotionally under-developed. We focus on moving forward with insight, compassion, and intentionality.
While my approach is kind and empathetic, there will also be a gentle push towards self-responsibility by not just gaining insight and recognizing patterns, but taking steps towards healthy and beneficial change.
I have recently published a guided journal on building emotional awareness and healthy romantic relationships. Please see my Shop page above or www.learningtolovebetter.com for more info on these guided journals.
